The Straightening Press is used to straighten and remove twist from engine
connecting rods. It meets all requirements of military specification MIL-P-45051D(AL). The
Press consists of a steel "C" frame assembly which contains a hydraulic ram,
handpump assembly and special anvils which are used to straighten connecting rods.
An instrument panel on the front machine contains a pressure gauge which indicates the ram
force in tons and the oil pressure in pounds per square inch, and an ON/OFF valve which
contains an internal relief valve factory set between 12.5 and 14.5 tons ram force.
A lever at the top of the machine is used to provide a rapid advance and release of the
ram.
